Why You May Be Seeing Of Earth & Salt Products on Amazon — Even Though We Don’t Sell There

We want to take a moment to explain something that a few of you have recently brought to our attention — something that is happening to small brands, artists, and makers all over the internet, without our consent.
Some customers have noticed Of Earth & Salt products appearing on Amazon.com, even though we have never sold our products on Amazon and have intentionally chosen not to.
That choice is important to us — and to many of you — so we want to be transparent about what’s going on.
We do not sell on Amazon
To be very clear:
-
Of Earth & Salt does not sell on Amazon
-
We do not have an Amazon storefront
-
We do not have a wholesale, marketplace, or licensing relationship with Amazon
-
We have never authorized Amazon to sell or represent our products
Our work has always been rooted in small-batch production, direct relationships, and consent-based partnerships. Selling on Amazon has never aligned with those values.
So why are our products showing up there?
Amazon has recently introduced a new shopping feature that surfaces products from across the web, even when those brands do not sell on Amazon.
In some cases, when someone searches for a brand name, Amazon may:
-
Display product images pulled from the brand’s website
-
Group them into “shop other stores directly” or “results from the web”
-
Present them inside Amazon’s own interface
This can create the impression that a brand is “on Amazon” — even when it isn’t.
That is what has happened here.
Why this matters to us (and to you)
Many of you choose to support Of Earth & Salt because:
-
You want to buy directly from the maker
-
You value ethical production and transparency
-
You want your purchase to support real people, not massive marketplaces
We share those values.
We also take consent seriously — not just our own, but that of the models and collaborators who appear in our photography. Seeing our work represented in places we didn’t choose, and didn’t consent to, matters to us.
What we’re doing about it
As soon as we confirmed what was happening, we took formal steps to:
-
Object to the unauthorized use of our images
-
Request removal of our brand and products from Amazon’s AI-generated shopping results
-
Create a clear record that we do not consent to this use
This process takes place behind the scenes, but it’s important to us to be upfront with you about it.
What you can trust
You can always trust that:
-
Our only official storefront is our own website
-
When you shop with us, you are supporting our small team directly
-
We will continue to make decisions that align with our values — even when they’re not the easiest or most profitable path
If you ever see our products somewhere and aren’t sure whether it’s legitimate, you’re always welcome to reach out and ask.
Thank you
We’re deeply grateful for the community that has grown around Of Earth & Salt — especially those of you who care not just what you buy, but how and from whom.
Thank you for supporting small, independent brands and for shopping thoughtfully.
With gratitude,
Of Earth & Salt
